We are currently in the process of making changes to our Romantic Vignettes feature. In order to make it even more accessible to you, it will now be located at it's own website www.romanticvignettes.com. This will make all archives easily available and allow room for your comments and feedback on each featured vignette.
We are still in the process of getting all of the archives transferred and the design of the site complete. We do hope that you will enjoy the new layout, and will update you when the changes have been made complete.Thank you for your patience as we make the transition.

About Romantic Vignettes
Welcome to 'Romantic Vignettes: Vignette of the Moment' brought to you by Alice W. of Painted White. We have created this page to showcase beautifully decorated vignettes and to inspire our visitors. Our "Vignette of the Moment" features come from a variety of sources including: our own home & work space, fellow designers' homes, various boutiques, and from submissions by you!
"What is a vignette?," you may ask. The answer quite simply, is any decorative space set-up for the purpose of being pleasing to one's eye. Vignettes have always been a staple of elegant decorating, especially for romantic cottage lovers. It can be your mantel display for an upcoming holiday, a favorite collection of old clocks set-up on a shelf, an old pitcher filled with roses set upon linens and lace...it is quite simply, a "view" filled with beautiful things that you love.
Would you like to have your vignette featured?
If you have a gorgeous display that you would like to share with fellow vignette lovers, please email us your photographs, with your name, a brief description of the vignette and yourself, and any links and/or other info you would like included in the description.
We seek only the "best of the best" in both the display itself and the photos. Please read below for details...
*Please Note: I am looking for "full" vignettes, and by that I mean a semi-large area decorated with several well chosen pieces. I am not looking for single objects or product photographs. I strive to only feature unique vignettes in the following styles: romantic, cottage, shabby chic, vintage/vintage inspired, rustic country, Victorian, whimsical, etc.
All photographs submitted should be of very high quality (think magazine quality) and at least 600 pixels wide - our viewers like to see clearly, as many details as possible. Two to five images of the same vignette (from a distance and close-up of the details) is ideal. If you only send us one photo, it will most likely not be featured. We reserve the right to edit them as we see fit, but you will be credited in the write-up if your vignette is chosen.
I highly prefer photographs taken in natural light with the flash off. A tripod or stand can help to keep them in focus. Please do not send photos that are below size, with flash marks, fuzzy, unfocused, dark, washed out, that have people in them (pets are welcomed though, so long as they do not interfere with the vignette itself), or that simply do not fit with the theme of being a "romantic vignette". I also prefer photos that have not been altered with borders/glows/soft edges, etc. A small watermark of your name in one corner is okay, but if it is too overbearing, the photos will not be used.
**Important** If you will be submitting a holiday or seasonal vignette, please be sure to do so at least 2 weeks prior to the actual holiday/start of the season, otherwise they may be put on file for the next year. Thank you!
Thank you in advance for only submitting photos that meet the above criteria.
We look forward to hearing from you!
